The unfortunate hot topic that I feel is incessantly talked about---at least in the circles I'm a part of---is antisemitism. I hope and wish and pray for the day when it isn't talked about at all because it is simply inexistent. However, that isn't the case; not until Moshiach returns. More unfortunate, it is very real and too prevalent and rising, so much so that this past week I endured an experience I have blessedly never encountered, but dreaded would one day come along. How ...

Choosing Happiness
Recently, during a stupid fight with my husband, I blurted through my sobs, “I don’t remember the last time I was happy.” Though something deep inside reassured me it was a lie, the thought came from somewhere. After a day or two of introspection, and discussing what it could mean with my husband, I came to the realisation what I meant, what I felt, was, “I don’t remember when my circumstances were happy.” Happiness is a choice despite one’s circumstances. Always is. It’s the ...
Adventure Awaits
This past weekend---week really---I did a lot of soul searching. Now, before you think I've slipped into some sort of existential crisis (again), let me reassure you that is not the case. (Maybe.) It is no secret that a few months ago I needed to return to a regular eight to five office job again after quitting my last position. Let's just say that the office life is rather....abrasive to my explorer's soul. I loathe being confined to a tiny cubicle for nine hours a day, five days a week. ...
Annual Report
A year ago to the week, I wrote about where I had been, what I'd been up to, and why my blogging had lost its consistency, committing to find it again through publishing a post weekly on Wednesdays. Since that final week of January 2022, I've only missed 10 of the total 52 weeks. That's a smidge less than 20% (19.2% for all you nerds out there) which I think is excellent news. While I'm not going to quantify consistency, especially my own, by any means, I think knowing I wrote a little ...

“Oh, to be a Storyteller”
A few weeks ago, I shared my retrospection of what I had gained from the storytelling programme I was soon to be graduating from, but I never told you what I had written at the beginning as I embarked on that year long journey to discover that part of myself I had so long denied. As the world has now entered a new [Gregorian] year, and many are looking forward to what they want this year to be about, setting their goals to either lose that holiday weight, get that promotion, or buy a new ...
A Diligent Heart
This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated three years of marriage, but our plans were almost thwarted. As I stood in the kitchen stuffing my face with a sufganiyot donut for a snack before we left to run our last bit of errands, I heard my husband grunt. It was more of a growl. Like an animal in pain. He did not howl nor scream. He's as tough as the nails he hammers every day at work, but that growl was loud enough for me to hear it through our closed front door, the living room, and ...
WOMS: A Bride’s Guide to Marriage and Murder
Please note: this post may contain affiliate links for products I recommend. If you make a purchase through these links, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a small commission. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. It's been a while since I properly shared any book review, not since my review of a non-fiction piece a few weeks ago. That said, a WOMS post is long overdue. While earlier this year I did hint at an idea I'd been toying with to diversify my WOMS posts, ...
