I don’t know why I’ve taken the time to fill this out, but I did. Maybe it’s that I’m feeling festive or because I’m bored at work (shh…don’t tell my boss), but regardless, here it is. (I tried my best to hold back the snark, but there might be a few exceptions…)
Frost — if you could give some advice to your younger self, what would you say? Don’t give up. Your pain will make you stronger. I promise: it’s worth it. All of it.
Maple — Is there a hobby/skill that you’ve always wanted to try but never did? Eh…not sure. Maybe archery, pottery, or fencing.
Harvest — What fictional character do you most identify with? Why? Jane Eyre; her story of overcoming adversity and forgiving her enemies is inspiring and similar, I hope, to my own (honorable mention: Jo March).
Fireside — if you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like? Mostly gowns, like fairy tale gowns; no particular historical period or style, just gowns. And then, contrastingly, suits, but like men’s suits with ties and pocket squares and colourful socks and brogues.
Cider — a food that you disliked as a child but now enjoy? Beans, guacamole, and shockingly, because they were the most vile of foods to me, onions. I’m starting to tolerate the flavour of onions. It’s weird.
Amber — share an unpopular opinion that you may have. Israel is a democracy favouring equality and freedom for all its citizens, and it is NOT a totalitarian, discriminating, oppressive apartheid state.
Fog — how well do you think you’d do in a zombie apocalypse scenario? It would go either of two ways: I’d be the hermit who saw it coming, prepared in advance, and hides away surviving until the end of my days; or I freak out and get killed immediately. Though, then there’s the question of do I help others…I’m overthinking this aren’t I?
Jack-o-Lantern — if you could look like any celebrity, who would you choose? Myself
Spice — have you ever encountered a house that you believed to be haunted? Oh, definitely.
Orchard — share one thing that you’d like to happen this autumn. Well…the one thing I never saw coming already happened at the beginning of the season, so I guess I don’t have an answer.
Crow — which school subject do you wish you had an aptitude for? Maths
Bonfire — describe your dream house. I oscillate between an English Costwolds cottage, French chateau, or American southern Victorian house.
Cinnamon — if you had to live in a time period different than the present, which would you choose and where? King David/Solomon’s Jerusalem, Shakespeare’s London, Austen’s countryside, Brontë’s moors, or Victorian England.
Cobweb — (if you’ve graduated) do you miss high school? I miss some of my teachers.
Cranberry — what’s one physical feature that you get complimented on? My hair
Maize — share the weirdest encounter you’ve had with a stranger on the street. My sister and I were walking to work back from lunch. We work downtown. This man came up to us asking a question, but he was intrusive and actually touched my sister, invading her space. I was livid.
Quilt — how do you take your tea (or coffee)? I take both with cream, never with sweetener.
Pumpkin — do you think that humans are inherently good or bad? Good
Moonlit — are you a neat or messy person? Is your room/house orderly? *ahem* no comment (read #43 in this article…)
Flannel — have you ever gone on a bad date? Absolutely. Several.
Cocoa — if you could have any type of hair, what colour and cut would you have? About four inches longer than what I have now is the only change I’d make.
Ghost — is there someone that you miss having in your life? My grandparents
Pumpkin Spice — what’s your drink of choice? Depends on my mood. Favourites are dirty chai latte, a dry cappuccino, or a London fog. Daily drinks are coffee or tea with cream. (And in autumn, I drink cider by the gallon. Literally.)
Wool Socks — what’s something you look forward to in fall? All of it. Mostly the colder weather and snuggling under blankets whilst drinking something hot, usually cider, and reading by the fireplace. I live further North than I did as a child, so I also love actually getting to witness the leaves changing colours too.
Falling Leaves — you’re stranded on a desert island and here’s the twist: what three things do you NOT bring with you? Insatiable hunger, impatience, and fear
Smelly Candles — what’s your absolute favorite scent? Roses
Big Sweaters — do you prefer the cold, warmth, or a perfect in-between? Cold. Always.
Halloween — if you could dress up as anyone/anything and pull it off absolutely flawlessly, who/what would it be? Fairy tale princess. No particular one, just someone who looks like they come from a fairy tale (and obviously I would the princess because GOWNS).
Cozy Blankets — where do you feel the most safe and at home? There are 3 locations with no differing levels of significance or importance: my first answer I cannot say, second is my apartment, and the third is Jerusalem.
Hot Tea — when was the last time you kissed someone (if you haven’t had your first kiss, who would you like that first someone to be?) Uh…I plead the fifth.
Flannel — what’s your favorite day of the year? Is there a reason it’s your favourite? Right now, it’s Chanukkah. I love Chanukkah.
Chilly Air — what’s your least favorite and favorite type of weather? Least, hot and sunny; favourite, snow (but I love rainy/stormy too…)
Scarves — if you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life what would it be? My favourite pajamas
Apple Cider — if you could throw a party and invite absolutely anyone, who would they be? I’m not sure…the first thing which comes to mind is I’d host a dinner party inviting all my favourite actors, filmmakers, etc. just to honour the tireless work they’ve done to give us such gripping performances and stories, and also to hear their stories from behind the camera/backstage.
Haunted Houses — what’s your scariest memory? (If you don’t have one/don’t want to talk about it, what’s your biggest fear?) The day we found out my mother had been in a near fatal car accident, and we didn’t know if she was going to make it as she was comatose. (Baruch Hashem, she survived.)
Fuzzy Boots — if you could live in any year/era, which would it be and why? Didn’t I already answer this…? Let’s change it to a literary/fantasy world/era. It would be a toss-up between Narnia and Middle Earth.
Thanksgiving — what is something/someone you’re the most thankful for? Any particular reason? My mother (see Haunted Houses)
Black Friday — what is one thing, if anything, you would sell your soul to own? Nothing. I’m not Gollum.
Apple Picking — if you could go anywhere, where would it be and why? I’d go back to Jerusalem and never leave this time, but I also want to see England, Scotland, Ireland, and New Zealand…
Corn Mazes — do you have any secret talents/abilities? If I told you, it wouldn’t be a secret.
Hay Rides — if you could pick absolutely anything to be your form of transportation, what would it be? Aston Martin DB5, silver
The Color Orange — do you have a specific song that reminds you of autumn? What is it? Peter Gynt’s In the Hall of the Mountain King
Windy Nights — if you could go to any concert whose would it be? Josh Groban, duh.
Holding Hands — do you believe in soulmates? Definitely
