Would you guess I’m originally from Texas? People usually ask me why I have no accent; I quip back how the years of vocal training and performance beat it out of me.

After dropping out of theology school, now I live in the Midwest where I met my husband. Occasionally you can still find me singing in a local theatre, but I’ve switched my focus and pursuits to my deeper passion: storytelling.
My blog documents my journey, along with other musings I might have, as I pursue becoming an author.
As Kate DiCamillo once wrote, “Stories are light. Light is precious in a world so dark. Tell a story. Make some light.”
Stories need listeners, so I’m glad you’re here. Let’s make some light—together.

Here are some other fun facts to get to know me better:
- I’ve been a vegetarian for over 15 years.
- Though I studied vocal performance and then theology, originally, I wanted to be an Egyptologist. I was obsessed with mummies as a child, which led to a deep love of all things archaeology.
- I’m a late-diagnoses AuDHD woman, so I’m that special snowflake or rare unicorn they warn you about.
